Young Life Cleveland West

Luke 5: 27-32 Later on, Jesus went out and looked straight at a tax-collector called Levi, as he sat at his office desk. “Follow me,” he said to him. And he got to his feet at once, left everything behind and followed him. Then Levi gave a big reception for Jesus in his own house, and there was a great crowd of tax-collectors and others at table with them. The Pharisees and their companions the scribes kept muttering indignantly about this to Jesus’ disciples, saying, “Why do you have your meals with tax-collectors and sinners?” Jesus answered them, “It is not the healthy who need the doctor, but those who are ill. I have not come to invite the ‘righteous’ but the ‘sinners’—to change their ways. One of my favorite things in Young Life is getting the opportunity to sit down with kids over a meal. It's not often anymore that kids slow down for an hour with a trusted adult to talk about their day, share things they're excited about or struggling with, or even just jok...

Young Life’s Capernaum (ministry to kids with special needs) wrapped up it’s first full year, and had great fun.  We have a wonderful group of kids who we are getting to know, but most importantly, we get to tell them verbally and non-verbally, that they are loved by the God of the universe!  We memorized John 3:16 together by learning it by hand motions and everyone was able to do it.  Our short talk was out of Luke 2 as we looked at the Inn Keeper who simply didn’t have room for Jesus.  We likened that to our lives and how often we simply don’t have room for Jesus.  Our goal this Christmas is to clean our rooms and have a place for Jesus daily. Thanks for supporting Young Life and Capernaum.  We are continuing to grow this exciting ministry.  Our needs are more buddies who will come and love kids with us. We are coming off two great fall weekends. November 10-12 I got to speak at Akron/Cantons weekend and share the Good News with kids there.  November 17-19 was our area's fall weekend at Skyview Ranch in Millersburg. This was our first new fall weekend after 12 years at Kalahari. Changing a fall weekend is huge when you have a good reputation with a reliable fall weekend.  We had an amazing weekend, fun, rain, paintball, mud football, horses and great memories were made. (Please see the photo below.) And kids came to Christ- 5 from our area!  Thanks for supporting this ongoing mission on the west side of Cleveland!  @AndyR

Monday October 2, we had an EPIC ALL AREA CLUBBLE! We had perfect weather, a great crowd (I’m guessing 200!!) and the Gospel was proclaimed! All of our Young Life clubs were represented, and many new faces were in the crowd. You’ve never seen such an action-packed, semi-violent game of Name That Tune. You cannot imagine! Clubble kicks off our regular club season:  Avon, Avon Lake, Bay and Lakewood will have a weekly proclamation of the Gospel for the rest of the semester.  We all continue to meet weekly with kids who want to go deeper through Campaigners. WyldLife kicked off at Avon Middle School and will spread the Word to teens all semester! Bay WyldLife is beginning this month! @KristyR
